Where is Earth Beat Festival?

Earth Beat Festival is held at the stunning Ātiu Creek Regional Park 75mins drive from Auckland CBD.

What time does Earth Beat start and finish?

Gates open from noon on Wednesday till 9pm, 20th of March. Please make sure you arrive before 9pm. The opening ceremony will be at 5pm. The last act will finish on Sunday at 3 PM and all attendees are required to pack–up and leave the site by 9PM Sunday unless you have an Extended Camping pass.

There are a limited number of Extended Camping passes in case you are wanting to stay at the park after the festival (Sunday and Monday nights). If you will be staying at the park after Tuesday (i.e. Tuesday night), you will need to book this directly through Auckland Council.

What is the latest time I can arrive at Earth Beat? When do the gates close on Friday and Saturday night?

Gates will be open to enter the festival:
Wednesday noon–9pm,
Thursday 9am–9pm,
Friday 9am–9pm,
Saturday 9am–9pm,
Sunday 9am–2pm

You may exit the festival anytime between 9am and 2am of the following day with the exception of Sunday, as well as Monday and Tuesday for those that have extended camping passes. Gates will remain open on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday until 10pm for those leaving the festival grounds.

Can I bring my dog?

Ātiu Creek is a Regional Park as well as a working farm. Auckland Council rules strictly forbid dogs in the park.

Can I bring alcohol to Earth Beat?

No, please don’t bring any alcohol to Earth Beat — Ātiu Creek is a Regional Park, glass is strictly forbidden. It is prohibited to BYO alcohol. Our security teams are located onsite to enforce this rule by searching at all points of entry and randomly across the site. Searching may include, the boot of your car, bags, coolers and chillybins, etc. BYO alcohol consumption has a serious impact on our alcohol license and Resource Consent obligations, potentially jeopardizing the future of Earth Beat. Earth Beat is 100% drug and alcohol abuse free. There is zero tolerance for drug and alcohol abuse on site. As part of this experience of life on Earth, we know that some of you enjoy a glass of wine or a beer. Alcohol will be available in limited quantities per person. Again please read the Alcohol Guidelines and Principles for the full break-down of this decision (link above).

We trust that whoever is drawn to our Earth Beat events know that the festival is a soulful gathering and not a place of alcohol abuse. Please respect this space and drink responsibly—there is zero tolerance for abuse.

LEAVE NO TRACE & SUSTAINABILITY

Earth Beat is a leave no trace event with zero waste aspirations. How can I prepare to help the festival community meet its goal?

Please bring your own reusable plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery. We will have washing stations on site. You will find our friendly ZERO WASTE CREW on site for more info and help.

There will be NO WASTE BINS on site. We will collect COMPOSTABLE food scraps only. Compost bins will be located in the market and camping area.

Please note that any recyclable containers or other waste that you bring to Earth Beat will need to go home with you when you leave the festival. Please support us to meet this goal – together we can leave not trace and work towards making Zero Waste a reality!

How will my food be served to me if vendors aren’t using single use containers?

Food bought at the festival will be served to you in your own plates/bowls. We will have washing stations on site. Some vendors will offer a plate or cup hire for $1 NZD. Earth Beat will also have an info tent in the main area which will have few plates, cups and cutlery for hire. Please return them clean and washed after use.

Is there drinking water at Earth Beat?

Drinking water is provided throughout the festival site. Bring your own bottles to refill.

Can I share a ride to Earth Beat?

Yes! We encourage all participants and contributors to share a ride to and from the festival. Carpooling is cheaper, more enjoyable and better for our Earth than driving alone. We’ll launch our carpooling platform closer to the festival. Sign up to our newsletter to find out when this goes live.

What else do I need to be aware of so that as a community we can be respectful of our beautiful venue Ātiu Creek?

Fire! There is currently a fire ban in the region. Unless you are part of the Hāngī or Temazcal workshops, or are a fire dancer, please avoid lighting fires at all times. (Gas cookers are fine). Fire dancers and performers should always see a crew member before lighting up to ensure the correct protocol is followed.

How can I be a part of the future care and regeneration of Atiu Creek?

Conservation Volunteers New Zealand and Auckland Council are doing great stuff at Ātiu Creek. Get in touch with them. There will be opportunities for people to chime in and contribute ideas for the festival. Sign up to our newsletter for more info.

Glitter at Earth Beat?

We are now all aware of the damage micro-plastics do the the environment and the oceans. There will be no glitter or bio-glitter available at the festival this year. We are also asking all festival goers not to bring any.

Ticket Pricing Rationale

Postponement Dates

Earth Beat has a firm postponement date of April 17–21, 2024. Please ensure you can also attend these later dates. Should a postponement be necessary due to Covid–19 protocols or other circumstances beyond our control, all tickets will be valid for the April 17–21 postponement dates and no refunds will be offered.

Can I get a refund for my ticket if the event is cancelled?

Tickets are refundable if the event is cancelled in accordance with our terms and conditions. Please read the full terms and conditions. In the event of cancellation, 2024 tickets will also be valid for the 2025 event.

Does my admission ticket include all the workshops?

Your admission includes all entertainment at Earth Beat, this includes most workshops. There will around 60+ workshops at Earth Beat.

So workshops will carry an additional fee for supplies/material. This will be stated in the festival programme.

Do I need to print my ticket or can I show it on my phone?

Our technology will also allow for smartphone ticket scanning, but data reception can be patchy out in a field. It is a good idea to take a screen shot of the QR code so it will be stored on your phone in your images. This will mean you will not require internet to access your ticket QR code at the gate. You can also print the QR code in the email.

Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

If the event is not sold out, you can purchase a ticket at the gate at the gate price. Gate tickets will carry the highest price. They will be the most expensive tickets. Eftpos will be available.

Do I need to buy additional camping or parking ticket?

All festival passes include camping in a tent. Vehicle passes are additional. You will need to purchase a vehicle pass regardless of whether you are parking your vehicle or sleeping in it. Refer to the Vehicle Passes section on out ticketing page for more info.

Where is my ticket?

Earth Beat Festival tickets are delivered electronically in an email in the form of an QR code (please check your spam). When you buy a ticket you will receive an email. It is a good idea to take a screen shot of the QR code so it will be stored on your phone in your images. This will mean you will not require internet to access your ticket QR code at the gate. Can I sell my ticket?

Tickets you purchase are for personal use only. Tickets must not be resold at a higher price than face value. If for whatever reason you are unable to attend the festival, the only platform we are using to re-sell tickets is ticketswap. Earth Beat has the right to cancel tickets that have been resold on any other third-party platforms. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to facilitate the resale of their ticket on ticketswap. The ticketswap link will be live shortly. Please check back.

Can I buy a day pass?

If the festival hasn’t already sold out we sometimes release a handful of single–day passes at the last minute.

CAMPING, PARKING, & ACCESSIBLITY

How can get from the parking to the Campsite? Is this easy? I have a lot of stuff and am not particularly fit enough to carry it all on my own.

There will be shuttles and volunteers to help you get your gear from the parking to the campsite, and for those who find it difficult to get around.

Earth Beat is a multigenerational, whānau focused event. We take accessibility seriously and are always looking for ways to improve. If you have disabilities, please notify crew on arrival.

Do I need to buy an additional camping ticket?

All festival passes include camping in a tent. Vehicle passes are additional. You will need to purchase a vehicle pass regardless of whether you are parking or sleeping in a vehicle.

Do I need to buy an additional parking pass?

All vehicles require a vehicle pass. There are three type of vehicles passes. Visit our ticketing page and make sure you click on the info button to read item details for each item before purchasing.

Can I sleep in my car or van?

Sleeping in vehicles is only allowed if you have purchased a Sleeper Vehicle Pass. This means you will be permitted to park your vehicle inside one of the camping areas. Sleeping in the general car parks is prohibited and will be enforced by security.

Is there wheelchair–friendly camping?

Yes. We have a number of accessible campsites, please notify crew on arrival.

Can I bring my own sound system?

No. We have a couple of large sound systems across the site to keep you entertained. When these turn off for the night, we all appreciate some peace and quiet. Feel free to bring instruments to jam with around the main fires or with people in your campsite, but also be respectful of noise in the camping area, There will be a lot of families at Earth Beat.

Can I stay on Sunday night?

Yes, you will need to purchase Extended Camping passes per adult per night for Sunday night, and also for Monday night if you’d like to stay. If you will be staying at the park after Monday, you will need to book this directly through Auckland Council.

Can I set up my campsite at Earth Beat a day earlier to skip the rush?

No. The earliest you can arrive is Wednesday. Gates open at noon. Gates close at 9pm.
