Better still, want to learn how to create one?
Join our workshop and learn the traditional Māori art of hāngī in collaboration with Ngāti Whātua (Te Uri o Hau).
Don’t miss out on this authentic cultural experience! You will need to register for the workshop at the info tent, as there are limited spaces.
The workshop will be facilitated by Matua Rihari and whānau.
Here is a brief outlay of how this entails:
- Assemble with those interested to be involved.
- Provide a written program of learning on what to expect and what is involved from start to finish (How a hāngī works, preparation, time management, food, responsibility, leadership, credibility, cost, and working as a team)
- Karakaia prior to commencement
- Work program & food preparation outlay
