Volunteering at Earth Beat Festival is an exceptional experience that stands out from other festivals in New Zealand. It’s an opportunity to experience working in a heart centered way and being a part of a community that cares about you.

Pre-Festival Volunteers

Set up a festival by day, connect in community by night.

Wednesday 12th March to Tuesday 18th March (Arrival Tuesday 11th March)

In-Festival Volunteers

Share your talents & be a part of co-creating the magic. There are plenty of ways to shine & you will be well looked after.

Wednesday 19th March to Sunday 23rd March. (Arrival Monday 17th March for training & welcome dinner on the 18th)

Post-Festival Volunteers

Break it down, pack it up. Community fun every night!!

Monday 24th March to Friday 28th March.

Pre-festival Volunteers

Pre-festival volunteering gives you the best of both worlds, crewing before the festival starts and then being completely free to enjoy the festival when it kicks off. Earth Beat Festival is well known for offering an incredible pre-festival volunteering experience.

The Exchange

Pre-festival setup starts on Wednesday the 12th of March. Arrival for the special build team is on Monday the 11th to build the crew kitchen. We will also need our kitchen team from Tuesday the 12th in the morning. For the rest of the pre-festival team, arrival is on Tuesday, the 11th of March, in the afternoon. There will be a welcome dinner that evening.

The contribution for pre-fest volunteering is $110 (non-refundable) which goes towards food & treats. There are no set shifts for pre-festival volunteers. We all work together to set the festival up but evenings are normally free and filled with music & fun.

As part of the volunteer experience we offer 3 meals a day during the week leading up to the event plus there will be morning and evening workshops, jams and games on offer and you have access to the beautiful Ātiu Creek surroundings to soak up with gorgeous walking trails and views. But really, being a part of the daily festival build is the best bit! You also get an option to access a discount code to share with someone you love and you have the option to attend the crew party held on the night after the festival ends. Awesome deal right?!

After the set up is over you will get free camping and access to all of the free workshops, music & dance activities available during the festival. No meals will be provided to you after the setup is done.

Once you have applied to volunteer, we will email you the details to pay your contribution and book your place. Once your payment is received you are confirmed.

Very Important T’s & C’s

Volunteer spaces are limited so please apply and pay your deposit early to avoid disappointment. You can make your volunteer contribution via a bank transfer if needed, please email us!. Please DO NOT purchase general festival tickets via our website or our ticketing platform if you want to volunteer. Please only purchase the volunteer ticket.

Cancellations

Contributions are not refundable if a cancellation is made within 2 weeks of the setup dates. You are welcome to pass on your volunteer spot to someone else though.

In-Festival Volunteers

Earth Beat Festival is well known for having an exceptional culture when it comes to how we treat our volunteers. We have taken many steps to ensure that all members of our volunteer family are well cared for throughout the festival. If you have volunteered at other festivals before, this will be different from any other festival volunteer experience you have ever had. If you are new to festival volunteering, fantastic, we welcome you to the family!

The Exchange

In-festival volunteering starts on with a fun training day on Tuesday 18th of March and ends on Sunday 23rd March. Arrival for volunteers is on Monday 17th March in the afternoon. There will be a welcome dinner that evening and an orientation and training day on Tuesday 18th of March. We prioritise volunteers that can commit to being an in-festival volunteer for the entire duration of the festival. Of course we appreciate that people can’t always commit the whole time so please don’t be discouraged from applying if you can’t make it for every day of the festival.

To confirm your place you will be kindly asked to purchase a $250 in-festival volunteer ticket. $90 is kept as a contribution towards food & treats, the remaining $160 will be refunded after the festival upon completion of the exchange.

We aim for volunteer shifts to be an average of 4 hours per day, and never exceeding 5.. Please note that this is our ultimate goal but actual shift times may vary.

All volunteers receive breakfast & 1 meal (lunch OR dinner) on the days they work and will have free camping (tents recommended) and access to all free workshops, music and dance activities available at the festival outside of shift times.

You also have the option to attend the crew party held on the night after the festival ends. Awesome deal right?!

Sounds great? How to confirm your place

After you apply you will be emailed and kindly asked to deposit $250 to secure your spot. The email will have all the deposit information. Once your deposit is received you’re part of the team!

Post-festival Volunteers

Enjoy the festival and then give back at the end.

The Exchange

Post-festival pack down starts after the festival ends in the afternoon on Monday 24th March and ends on Friday 28th March. Check in for the post-festival team will be on Monday morning at 8:45am around a “welcome to the team” breakfast in the Volunteer area.

There are no set shifts for post-festival volunteers. We all work together to pack up the festival but evenings are normally free and filled with music & fun.

As part of the volunteer experience we offer 3 meals a day during the pack down plus there will be morning and evening workshops, jams and games on offer and you have access to the beautiful Ātiu Creek surroundings to soak up with gorgeous walking trails and views. You also have the option to attend the crew party held on the night after the festival ends. Awesome deal right?!

Before the pack down starts, you will get free camping and access to all of the free workshops, music & dance activities available during the festival. No meals will be provided to you before the pack down starts.
