This is a hands-on workshop – everyone will leave with a new handicraft, a piece of jewellery and growing confidence in yourself as a creative being. I deeply believe to be human is to be crafty. We have been making/crafting things we need in life since forever – it’s only a recent idea that some people are crafty and some aren’t. Claiming your inner creative is a journey you can start at my workshops. I will instruct, guide and demonstrate the steps to take with simple cord and stone, first to create a net, then to bind the stone and finally to make a necklace. Only a few generations ago we all used to craft! These skills are rapidly being taken over by mass production, big corporations and technology. I aim to re-introduce craft as a way to save money, the planet and your very being with the meditative mindfulness crafting brings. If you’d like to join me in re-remembering the ancient craft of turning found objects into jewellery, come and join me!

Hi! I’m Jessica, a crafty lady lucky to come from a family of crafters. And farmers. As a child, things were made, repaired and designed in our home, workshop & machine shed as a way of life. Nothing was thrown away which could be mended. Op shops were the circulation of life. Adulthood has followed this path too. I have taught a range of craft classes; Jewellery, crochet, sewing and felting. I have sold my wares at markets and festivals alongside my love, made my family’s clothes and shoes, and generally lived a very crafty life! How lucky am I?!!
