Twisty Twirly Bracelets
Tace Wilson
Children of all ages are welcome to drop in to this workshop and work in pairs to make colourful bracelets from natural fibres. Young people and their helpers can make one for themselves, make one for a friend, and make a few to put in the Giving Basket.
At the end of the session, bracelets from the basket will be freely offered to the people at Earth Beat. Materials will be supplied and the bracelets will be made using only 100% natural fibres like cotton, hemp and bamboo. This is a no waste workshop – all the scraps will be gathered and upcycled in future craft projects.
Suitable for all ages – even the very youngest children can choose their colours and learn a fun and simple twisted cordage technique. This workshop is offered by Tace, who teaches art to children in Northland.
A small group of unschooled teens will be assisting the younger children at the workshop.
