Manawa Ora Tamariki Yoga
Angela Mastronardi
This workshop starts exploring the breath and act of breathing: “What is the Breath?” – Using a little tissue or our hands on our mouths and our noses to have a clear experience of it. With this new understanding in our kete, we then flow into a fun sequence of easy dynamic asanas that mimic the world of animals, nature, things and actions. Cards with the drawing picture of the postures and their names in Maori and English are used to help the tamariki to be prepared, focused and engaged. The practice ends with a brief relaxation listening to the sound of the Tibetan Singing Bowl while being guided into a brief body scan to connect to their sensations and beings. Singing of 3 Ohm and Shanti is offered to close the practice.
Originally from Italy, Angela has rooted in Aotearoa for the past 9 years. She holds a diploma in Socio-Pedagogy, a bachelor degree in Neurophysiology and she is a Yoga teacher (since 2013), although her journey with Yoga started back in 2005. During the last 18 years, she has shared the game of Yoga with little ones in several occasions and settings, from one-on-one to groups, from Early Childhood Centers to Festivals. More recently, Angela has founded Manawa Ora Tamariki Yoga; sharing the power of Pranayama and Asana with children on her territory.
