Originally hailing from the UK, I have a deep love and appreciation for Dub/reggae. Growing up around Leeds, soundsytem is a big part of our culture, the west Indian community is strong and their message militant. The true rebel sound. I feel this is my duty to keep pushing and sharing this vibration out into the world, a relevant and loved sound here in NZ. The collection of reggae music currently in my possession is wide and diverse, my favorite riddims to explore are earth quaking steppas – hellraising Babylon breakers.
This music and the space I hope to create when I play is not really about me performing, so much as creating a container for listeners to Dive Deep, raise their vibration and push back against our oppressions in love and unity.
The response I have had of my expressions here in Aotearoa have been nothing but positive, praised as being unique and direct.
