Empress Naima is a strictly vinyl selector known for her solid, bass-heavy dubs infused with a sweet and conscious vibe. Her selection spans from roots reggae through to dub, dubstep and jungle.
Naima has shared the stage with international acts such as Mad Professor, Mungos Hi Fi, Dennis Bovell, RSD, Soom T, Radical Guru, and JStar and performed at festivals including Splore, Sundiase, Prana, and Dubscape.
Naima’s radio DJ journey, spanning over two decades, has seen her grooving the airwaves of several independent Radio stations, including Kfm and Base FM. She is also a passionate advocate for a more diverse and inclusive musical landscape.
These days, she continues to captivate audiences with her carefully curated sets all over the Muto, including Halleratu, Ponsonby Social Club, community events, and with local Soundsystems.
