Woven Talon
Andrew (Anaru) Tumason
Woven Talon channels primal rhythms opening a river for an ancient medicinal voice to grow, enchanting listeners to journey inward through shadow and light, grounding and flight, awaking the imagination and inspiring a dance to lift the spirit. With voices born amidst the forest, fire, and shore, visionary composer and guitarist Andrew Tumason weaves layers of soulful vocals, hypnotic strings, world percussion, and deep earthen tones, growing the Talon tribe with sound healers Shai Brod on didgeridoo, percussionists Daniel Chapman & Djulz Chambers, and vocalists Tukana Kaya, Karen Hunter, and Brooke Hayley. From Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tumason has been visiting and nourishing his heart in Aotearoa since attending Wellington’s Uni Victoria in 2003. He is known as a percussionist in the Afro-Haitian dance community and for his acoustic cinematic arrangements in studios around the world.
