Alternative Economies in Aotearoa
Leo Murray
As the last dying fits of neo-liberal capitalism play out, the critical conversation of how to structure our economies and exchange value exists on the fringes. Join Sustainability Consultant Leo Murray as we explore human-centred value-exchange initiatives which cultivate sustainable economies for communities within our planetary boundaries. Leo will offer his experience with Timebanks, Gift Economies and Community Savings Pools – with an opportunity for participants to join a newly forming Savings Pool centered around Aotearoa’s Festival community.
With nature as his teacher, Leo plays an active role as an interdisciplinary changemaker and thought leader in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Officially working as a ‘beyond’ sustainability consultant for Why Waste, Leo’s other roles can be described as vibe architect, permaculture designer, systems design thinker, NVDA activist, storyteller and ocean voyager.
