Five Elements Qigong
John Munro
Qigong uses movement, breath, and intention to balance our living energy. Within Chinese philosophy the Five Elements represent archetypal phases of energy flow within our lives, Wood which rises, Fire which expands, Earth which consolidates, Metal which refines, and Water which distils.
This Qigong practice session will help you to tune into the fundamental qualities of each of these elements found within nature, and bring each of them into harmony within the flow of your energy and life. Working with the five elements helps us to embrace the natural cycles of energy in life and to flow through the changes of each phase with more grace and ease.
John Munro is the founder of Long White Cloud Qigong, and author of several popular books on Qigong. He currently serves as the Vice President of the New Zealand Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association.
