Focusing on abundant, delicious & nutritious edible ‘weeds’, you’ll leave this workshop eager to forage in your own backyard & neighborhood. We’ll cover: ~ the basic principles of foraging including sustainable practices ~ confidence indentifying edible wild plants ~ nutritional & medicinal benefits & practical first aid uses ~ common toxic/dangerous lookalikes to avoid ~ best ways to prepare for maximum nutrition & flavor ~ fascinating folklore & history of wild edible weeds used by our ancestors.
You’ll leave feeling empowered with the knowledge needed to build better local food resilience & food security. You can skip going to the supermarket after this workshop, instead gathering your own wild greens for dinner. No experience required, all welcome.
Felicity is a seasoned forager, teaching regular foraging workshops and is the author of three foraging guides, focused on abundant, edible weeds found all over New Zealand. Felicity believes that we should all have the right & access to healthy, local, spray-free food & medicine. She’s passionate about sharing her knowledge & skills to empower & inspire others to build a closer relationship with their natural environments whilst becoming more resilient.
