Sacred Singing Circle
Mo Libertad & Friends
Let us circle together and sing our heart songs! This is family – this is unity – this is celebration, this is sacred! An inclusive singing circle, where we come together and unite with our hearts to share songs, hymns and prayers from all around the world; songs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, Sanskrit mantras and more, from the indigenous cultures of the forests and the rainbow tribes of this beautiful planet. We pray for peace and healing. We celebrate the medicine of plants and animals, the sacredness of life on this Earth and we acknowledge the guidance and protection of our ancestors and sacred spirits.
This is not a gig where the artist is separate from the audience. Nor is it a sing along jam of rock or pop songs, and we are not limited to mantra kirtan. This is an inclusive experience, where everyone is invited to participate with their voice and musical instruments and create a colourful tapestry of sounds. Please come along and share a song in the circle!
Mo Libertad comes originally from the holy city of Jerusalem. He has been 20 years in Aotearoa and lives on the beautiful Waiheke Island. Mo is fascinated by the access that music opens to the sacred and its power to open people’s heart, heal and transform. He plays music in sacred singing circles, at shamanic ceremonies and feels at home where devotion meets groove. A previous project has been the Qawwali Collective, where Mo explored with other musicians the study of traditional Sufi ecstatic devotional chants.
