Living Ecologically
Terry Kennedy
This workshop draws on the research of Wilhelm Reich, Victor Schauberger, Bill Mollison, James Lovelock, and many other observers of natural processes. Their ideas are combined to present an approach to living with, and drawing energy from, the world around us. Ecology is a holistic science that draws on all the other sciences as it investigates the connections between living and non-living components of the natural world. Permaculture, Tao farming. One straw gardening and Bio-dynamics are manifestations of thousands of years of accumulated wisdom. Bird lands in a tree. Bird shits. Seed germinates. Birds’ got a job. Trees’ got a job. Shits’ got a job. All gods children got a job. Nutrients are transported along the food chain by a vast, cooperative assembly line involving all forms of life. Understanding how to assemble these systems allows us to be active participants in the incredible process that is life on earth.
I have been a student seeking knowledge from nature for six decades. I became a teacher 20 years ago and have had to remain outside mainstream curriculums as they tend to limit knowledge to commercial paradigms. I started running workshops for struggling farmers when their soils began to collapse and have been involved in developing solutions to ecological problems throughout New Zealand.
